In recent decades it has grown exponentially in the human care for the environment. And 'now clear that productive activities are causing rapid depletion of natural resources and a rapid deterioration of the environment with the danger of reaching a point of no return with consequences to say the least difficult to imagine.
Words like sustainability, biocompatibility, biodegradability have become increasingly common in all productive sectors.
As for cleansing a significant step in Europe, but not enough, it has been made with the European Regulation EC 648/2004 (and subsequent amendments). The latter replaced the previous legislation that took into account only the primary biodegradability of surfactants in detergents and only applied to anionic and nonionic surfactants. The EC Regulation 648/2004 takes into account the complete biodegradability and meets, rather, the important concerns related to the potential toxicity of persistent metabolites, also extends the biodegradability requirements also to cationic and amphoteric surfactants. Thanks to the application of the 648 / EC Regulation is no longer possible to use the detergent inside nonylphenol (including ethoxylates derivatives EPA), resist degradation and hazardous non-ionic surfactants for the environment.
However, even the EC Regulation 648/2004, despite being an important step forward to a greener detergent has several limitations as it allows, for example, the use of surfactants from non-renewable sources or from petroleum and takes account of surfactants but not of other components of detergents such as solvents, sequestering agents, preventing agents and other washing aids leaving to private initiative the development of more sustainable and environmentally friendly products (but more expensive and sometimes less competitive) today marked with brands such as Ecolabel, ICEA, CAM etc.
Alchemy Professional, thanks to the experience gained over the years in the field of professional cleaning, has always had an eye for the environment. The Alchemy Professional staff was among the first in Italy to use biotechnology and surfactants of vegetable origin in the professional cleaning, to develop highly concentrated solid dishwasher detergents as well as lines of super concentrated detergents can dramatically reduce the plastic and water consumption.
Alchemy Professional is currently engaged in the production of environmentally friendly "green" products with raw materials solely from renewable sources, biodegradable sequestering agents and solvents of plant origin able to avoid the usual problems with the waste water. Among these GOLD ADY Green and Green, respectively, detergent and rinse aid for professional dishwashers, which will become part of the Alchemy range in the first months of 2017 and now represent the future of the kitchen line.
